Earlier, we told you about how Columbia Falls School Dist 6 Superintendent Cory Dziowgo, took a $55,000 student lunch debt and reduced it to less than $10,000, by simply picking up the phone and making calls. An extraordinary effort that earned him our very first Louise Walker Memorial Award, for outstanding achievement above and beyond the call of duty.

Last night at the Columbia Falls School Board Meeting, Gap Fillers Flathead paid the remaining balance – $9,971.93. This would not have been possible without your incredibly generous donations, to ensure that no child bears shame for lacking the funds or access to student lunch, and every child has the same meal opportunities as his or her friends, while at school. The slate has now been wiped clean, and Columbia Falls families can focus on the importance of a great Montana education for their children!

Now that SD6 has qualified for the Community Eligibility Program, children will eat breakfast and lunch at no cost through 2028.
