⭐️SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
Today, we presented The Louise Walker Memorial Award to its very first recipient, Cory Dziowgo, School Superintendent for Columbia Falls, Dist 6.
When Cory came to the Flathead a year ago, the Columbia Falls School District student lunch debt was in excess of $50K. In that time, Cory has nearly single-handedly managed to reduce it to $13K. He took this on himself, by increasing communication and awareness and remodeling the end of year “check out process.” As a former chef, Cory knows the impact a warm meal has on students’ ability to focus and learn better.
Louise Walker, our southern belle from Brentwood, TN., who believed in our mission, would’ve been honored to know Cory and would’ve celebrated his efforts in ensuring that no child bears shame for lacking the funds or access to school lunch, and every child is deserving of the same meal opportunities as his/her friends. Gap Fillers Flathead and the Louise Walker Family, honor Cory today for outstanding leadership in the quest to eliminate student lunch debt.
As part of this award, our all-volunteer Board of Directors sponsored (no donor funds were used) $250 in food & services for Cory and his family with our past & present partners in student lunch debt elimination Fatt Boys Sports Bar & Casino and The Syndicate Hair and Beauty Parlor in Kalispell.
Congratulations, Cory! Well done!
